We’re in the South Y’all

Hello! Thanks for taking a moment to catch up with our ministry and family news. We are 2.5 months into a 3 month-long road trip. As much as we have enjoyed visiting churches, meeting people, and seeing our country we are ready to sleep in our own beds. It will be nice to walk into our kitchen and get a snack freely from our fridge or wash, fold, and put away laundry in a closet instead of a suitcase. We are looking forward to wrapping up the last two weeks on the road before heading home to Michigan in July.

Our Sunday was busy as we visited two churches that were three hours apart. After the morning service at Pine Grove Baptist Church the congregation gathered by a river for a baptismal service. Watching a baptism at a river was a first for us. It was very encouraging as we saw nine people follow the Lord in believer’s baptism!

Sunday evening was equally encouraging as we visited Grace Baptist Church in Harriman, Tennessee where Anna’s grandfather was the former pastor. After the service Pastor Langford treated us to dinner at Sonic where we stayed until 10:00 PM chatting and getting to know each other.

On our way to Virginia we made a quick stop in Washington D.C. It was a short trip, but we had enough time to snap a few pictures of the major landmarks. Our boys may grow up in another country and develop an accent, but we hope they always remember that they are Americans. Walking around the many war memorials gave us a greater appreciation for our servicemen and women who have sacrificed their lives for our freedom.

We’re hanging around the South for a while. To view our schedule please click here.
