Family

Kevin Ruwersma Kevin Ruwersma had the privilege of being raised in a Christian home where he was taught the truth of God’s Word from a very young age. When Kevin was five years old, while attending a Christian Academy, a teacher showed him from the Bible how all men are sinners and deserve punishment (Romans 3:23). She also showed Kevin how Christ died on the cross to make the payment for his sins and that he must ask Jesus Christ to forgive him (John 3:16). Kevin trusted in Jesus Christ that day to save him and became a child of God. He is thankful for a loving God who has forgiven him of his sins and has promised never to leave him nor forsake him (Hebrews 13:5).

During high school Kevin was able to see the spiritual needs around the world by going on mission trips to Mexico and Haiti. During his senior year of high school, he read Romans 10:14 “How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?”  At that moment, Kevin knew God desired for him to be a preacher of the gospel.  A year later God led Kevin to Crown College in Powell, Tennessee where he studied missions. It was while Kevin was at college that he met his wife, Anna. They were married shortly after graduation in June 2006.

Anna & KevinAnna Ruwersma was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, where her parents were serving as missionaries. The Lord mercifully showed Anna she was a sinner and needed forgiveness of sins. As a young girl, Anna repented of her sins and, by faith, asked Jesus Christ to save her. A few years later she was baptized.

When Anna was six years old her parents moved to Portugal. Anna was able to experience firsthand the life of a missionary while growing up in a foreign country. Even as a child she was involved in the ministry. Anna brought her school friends to the children’s club, passed out tracts, and played with the children while her parents held Bible studies. While serving with her family in Portugal, God gave Anna a passion for missions that would not cease to grow as the years passed.

Anna later attended Crown College and graduated with a degree in Elementary Education. During her college years, the Lord strengthened her burden for full-time ministry. She met Kevin her freshman year and they were married in 2006.

Ministering Together

After Kevin and Anna were married, they immediately began working at a church plant in Michigan. A few years later Kevin and Anna completed a two-year mission internship in England assisting a church restoration effort. They were able to work in several ministries including: Sunday school outreach, youth rallies, family Bible studies, door- to- door visitation, discipleship, preaching, and teaching religious education in the public schools. During this time, the Lord worked in their hearts and gave Kevin and Anna a burden for the United Kingdom.

After serving as pastor from 2010- 2012, Kevin and Anna continued to feel a burden for England, and their yearning to go back only became stronger. Kevin and Anna returned to England in the summer of 2012 to visit churches and travel the country on a survey trip. It is their hope to begin both church restoration and church planting in the United Kingdom as full- time missionaries.
