165 Million Cups of Tea
One word can pretty much sum up our week – sickness. We’ve had ear infections and sinus infections. Thankfully, it finally looks like we are blowing away the final sniffles.
We are thrilled to have a few new churches partner with us to bring us to a solid 60%. We are now pushing hard for 70%! We are so pleased with how quickly the last 20% has come in. Wouldn’t it be great to arrive on the field sooner than expected?!
Here is a screen shot of our schedule for the month of March. It looks like we will be in church nearly every night! Please pray we will be fresh and encouraging for each meeting we attend.
I often say in my testimony, “The next time you take a sip of tea, please pray for England.” Tea is an important part of British culture. It can also be just as important in developing friendships and trust in England. Often before I ever saw anyone come to church I had shared half a dozen cups of tea with them! Just for fun I looked up some British tea statistics to share with you:
- 80% of office workers say they find out more about what’s going on at work over a cup of tea than any other way.
- 96% of all cups of tea drunk daily in the UK are brewed from tea bags.
- 98% of people take their tea with milk, but only 30% take sugar in tea.
- The British drink 165 million cups of tea daily!
I do have a sweet tooth, but I quickly learned to leave the sugar out of my tea. I found myself drinking 2-4 cups a day! The best part of tea in my opinion are the scones loaded with clotted cream (see why I opted to leave the sugar out?).
So…the next time you sit and enjoy some tea, please pray for those who need Christ in England!
